Ivanka Trump blasted Pelosi and Schiff and the hapless Democrats sham impeachment inquiry. The House just passed an unfair – Schiff can block pro-Trump witnesses if he wants – resolution with zero GOP votes.
A few Dems crossed over to vote no and in the Senate, the Dems have zero chance to win the trial so why drag the country through this?
Ivanka quoted Thomas Jefferson to expose the shame: “surrounded by enemies and spies catching and perverting every word that falls from my lips or flows from my pen, and inventing where facts fail them.” -Thomas Jefferson’s reflections on Washington, D.C. in a letter to his daughter Martha.
Some things never change, dad!”
Correct. From The New York Daily News:
The House of Representatives voted 232-196 almost entirely along party lines on Thursday to approve a road map for impeaching President Trump over his efforts to pressure Ukraine into launching investigations of his Democratic rivals.
Just two Democrats voted against the measure. No Republican voted in favor.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the vote and pounded her gavel to call the chamber to order as Republicans shouted in disagreement on Capitol Hill.
Standing next to a giant American flag, Pelosi earlier cited the nation’s founding document as she launched debate on a the explosive impeachment plan, which she had resisted for weeks until the Ukraine scandal exploded last month.
“It’s about the truth, it’s about the Constitution,” Pelosi said. “What is at stake? It’s about democracy. What are we fighting for? Defending our democracy for the people.”
Moments after the vote, Trump tweeted: “The Greatest Witch Hunt In American History!” White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham called the move “unfair, unconstitutional, and fundamentally un-American.”
Republican Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) trashed the impeachment effort as a “Soviet-style show trial” of Trump.
“This is the United State of America. Don’t run a sham process, a tainted process,” Scalise said.
