Adam Schiff Hires MSNBC Goon To Go After Trump

Adam Schiff just made his move and Trump is not happy. Schiff is staffing up for yet another Democratic investigation of Trump. Schiff, sending a clear signal where this is going, hired an MSNBC talking head who was a former SDNY prosecutor.

In his role at MSNBC he was not fair and balanced towards Trump, to say the least, and with his expertise in Russian organized crime expect this to get ugly quickly.

From Politico:  The House Intelligence Committee has hired a seasoned former Southern District of New York federal prosecutor with experience going after Russian organized crime to lead its myriad investigations into President Donald Trump.

Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) announced on Tuesday that Daniel Goldman joined the committee last month as senior adviser and director of investigations.

Goldman, who was second-in-command at SDNY’s organized crime unit, has prosecuted the Russian mob and has secured convictions for racketeering, murder and money laundering, including against the Genovese crime family.

Goldman was until recently a legal analyst for MSNBC and NBC News, where he often spoke critically of the president’s posture toward the investigations that have ensnared him.

Goldman’s hiring comes as House Democrats continue to ramp up their probes targeting the president, his administration, his presidential campaign and his business empire.

Schiff’s committee recently re-opened its Russia investigation, which will focus on whether foreign actors have leverage over Trump, and whether Trump associates colluded with Russian operatives to interfere in the 2016 election.

From The New Yorker:

As deputy chief of the organized-crime section of the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office, Goldman supervised the prosecution of more than thirty defendants accused of racketeering, gambling, and money laundering. During his decade in the office, Goldman convicted individuals associated with Russian organized crime of securities fraud and health-care fraud, and convicted leading figures in the Genovese crime family of racketeering and murder.

One of Schiff’s previous committee hires drew a critical comment from the President. Last month, Schiff hired Abigail C. Grace, who served as an Asia-policy staffer on the National Security Council during the early part of the Trump Administration. In response, President Trump tweeted that the Democrats were going “nuts” and that Schiff was “stealing people who work at the White House.” In response, Schiff pointed out that congressional committees often employ individuals with experience in the executive branch.

The conflict between Trump and Schiff dates back to well before the Democrat took over as the chair of the Intelligence Committee, after the midterm elections. In a tweet, Trump once rendered Schiff’s name as “Schitt,” and, in his recent speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, the President bestowed the congressman with the nickname Shifty Schiff.
